DeSantis in Peak Form during Debate w/ ‘Old Donkey’ Charlie Crist

'I understand not everyone’s going to be born in perfect circumstances, but I would like to see everybody have a shot.... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dominated Democrat challenger Charlie Crist during the two gubernatorial contenders’ only pre-election debate as a RealClearPolitics average shows the incumbent Republican with a double-digit lead just two weeks from Election Day.

When Crist attempted to blame DeSantis for his potential—but unspoken—interest in a 2024 Presidential bid, DeSantis slammed his “old donkey” opponent, the Daily Caller reported.

“Well listen, I know that Charlie is interested in talking about 2024 and [President] Joe Biden, but I just want to make things very, very clear. The only worn-out old donkey I’m looking to put out to pasture is Charlie Crist,” DeSantis said.

“And you want to talk about standing up for taxpayers, when Charlie Crist was governor, he ran saying he would not raise taxes and he signed off on the largest increase in taxes and fees in the history of the state of Florida,” DeSantis continued. “We just enacted the largest decrease of taxes in the history of Florida.”

The debate also ranged to topics such as gender reassignment surgery, which Crist supports wholeheartedly.

“If you’re a 15-year-old, you can’t get a tattoo in the state of Florida. Yet we’re saying you can get a double mastectomy?” DeSantis said. “Of course not, it is inappropriate for to do this for minors and in Florida we’re not going to allow them to happen.”

The Republican proceeded to slam Crist for his support of abortion and other wild left-wing lunacies.

“I just think we’re better when everybody counts,” he said. “I understand not everyone’s going to be born in perfect circumstances, but I would like to see everybody have a shot.”

The governor then touted his administration’s success in enactin a new heartbeat law for the state.

“I’m proud of the 15 weeks that we did,” DeSantis said, alluding to the state’s ban on abortions after 15 weeks.

“I know Charlie Crist opposes that, even though the baby is fully formed, has a heartbeat, can feel pain, and can suck their thumb,” DeSantis continued. “And he also supports taxpayer-funded abortion all the way up to the moment of birth, and that is plain wrong.”
