DeSantis Draws Praise for Promoting Fundraiser to Benefit ‘Hero’ Marine, Defeat ‘Soros-Funded DAs’

'And now team Trump retweeted the link to Penny’s legal fund. This is good — the Right is coming together for the right reason ... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Heading into a high-stakes duel with former President Donald Trump in Iowa on Saturday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis drew high praise and support for sharing on Twitter a fundraiser for Marine veteran Daniel Penny.

Soros-funded, Trump witch-hunting Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg on Friday filed a second-degree manslaughter charge against the 24-year-old Penny over the death of Jordan Neely.

Penny allegedly used what authorities called a fatal chokehold to neutralize the violent and mentally deranged homeless Neely on the New York City subway.

Despite a rap sheet that covered 42 arrests involving assault, fraud and criminal trespass, leftist mobs inflamed by radical, activist Democrats pounced in protests trying to portray Neely as a harmless, homeless street performer who could give them another George Floyd moment.

In promoting the fundraiser for Penny, a GiveSendGo account for legal fees, DeSantis also took aim at Bragg and a broken leftist legal system that subverts justice.

“We must defeat the Soros-Funded DAs, stop the Left’s pro-criminal agenda, and take back the streets for law abiding citizens,” DeSantis tweeted along with a link to the fundraiser. “We stand with Good Samaritans like Daniel Penny. Let’s show this Marine… America’s got his back.”

DeSantis received an overwhelmingly positive response to his tweet, as he heads into a major fundraiser on Saturday in Iowa, where Trump is slated to hold one of his signature rallies. The goodwill DeSantis banked from deposits of praise for his support of Penny could hand him a boost, as the dueling events take center stage.

Powerhouse defense attorney and conservative columnist Marina Medvin offered an enthusiastic, “Wow,” while noting that “team Trump retweeted the link to Penny’s legal fund.”

“This is an alpha move,” tweeted Jake Bequette. “I will continue to push for a red state governor to offer legal sanctuary to Penny, but DeSantis is once again leading the way.”
