‘Racist’: Dem. Lawmaker Ripped over White Taxes to Pay Reparations

'Capitalism was built on stolen land, stolen labors and stolen resources...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) A Denver lawmaker is under fire after proposing a tax on white-owned businesses that would effectively ransack their sales to black-owned companies—all in the name of reparations.

Denver City Councilwoman Candi CdeBaca, a member of the Democratic Socialist of America, touted the race-based taxes at a forum before the non-profit Great Metro Denver Ministerial Alliance.

“Capitalism was built on stolen land, stolen labors and stolen resources,” CdeBaca claimed. “A check today could not undue to the cumulative impact of generations of that stolen wealth in all of those categories.”

CdeBaca faces a June 6 run-off election against challenger Darrel Watson, who also endorsed reparations to black Americans. CdeBaca, however, was endorsed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.,’s leftist Working Families Party.

The self-proclaimed democratic socialist called out Business Improvement Districts, which are self-taxing districts primarily focused to improve the wealth of certain communities. Instead, she called for taxes for white Americans.

“Instead of a BID collecting extra taxation, from the black and brown businesses that are struggling, you could be collecting those extra taxes from white-led businesses all over the city and redistributing them to black and brown-owned businesses who are not part of it,” CdeBaca continued.

The race-based system was first flagged by the Libs of TikTok account, which blasted the radical proposal, gaining over 2.9 million views as of May 5.

“Denver City Council member Candi CdeBaca, who is running for re-election, says white owned businesses should be taxed extra and redistributed to black owned businesses,” the famed Twitter account of Libs of TikTok wrote.

The race-based taxation proposal made conservatives erupt in fired-up responses. “This is evil. This is wrong. This is racist,” conservative host Charlie Kirk said via Twitter.

Conservative commentator Robby Starbuck took to Twitter and condemned the Marxist-inspired proposal.

“Communists are so predictable,” said Starbuck, who was quickly blocked by the leftist councilwoman.
