Democrat Border Town Mayor Slams Biden for Creating Immigration Crisis

'You have a breach on national security levels that have never before been seen in modern history...'

The Democrat mayor of a border town slammed President Joe Biden for the ongoing immigration crisis, saying Biden’s refusal to acknowledge the severity of the problem has been a “slap in the face.”

“You have a breach on national security levels that have never before been seen in modern history, and you’re not even batting an eye about it. You’re not even calling it a ‘crisis.’ You’re calling it a quote unquote ‘challenge,'” said Del Rio, Texas, Mayor Bruno Lozano.

In a video addressed to Biden, Lozano explained that his small town of about 35,000 people is struggling to deal with the flood of migrants seeking asylum while it also recovers from Texas’s severe power outage last month.

“Mr. President, I am pleading and requesting with you to please put a halt to any measures regarding the release of immigrants awaiting court dates into the city of Del Rio and surrounding areas,” he said, showing videos of long lines in Del Rio’s grocery stores with empty shelves.

“We do not have the resources available to house and accommodate these migrants within our community. … If you do send these individuals into our community, we will be forced to make a decision to leave them without resources under these dire circumstances,” Lozano explained

But Lozano said his request fell on “deaf ears.”

His town continues to receive about 150 illegal immigrants a day, he said, so he’s had to use municipal funds to help the town mitigate the crisis.

“It’s not even in our budget. Every line item is accounted for in municipal government. We’re very fine-tuned in budget. It’s not appropriate,” he said.

“You’re condoning unlawful behavior, period,” Lozano said of Biden. “It just blows my mind how disconnected from reality [they are], or maybe they do know, maybe they just don’t want to call a spade a spade, you know, because it’s uncomfortable.”
