(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A new bombshell report has surfaced, linking former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to the controversial Burisma bribery scandal involving President Joe Biden and his embattled son, Hunter Biden.
The report, released by Fox News on Sunday, reveals a meeting between Kerry and Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner and fellow board member at Burisma, just weeks before the Biden-ordered dismissal of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in 2016.
The report is based on a redacted State Department email dated March 2, 2016, which stated, “‘Devon Archer coming to see S today at 3:00pm – need someone to meet/greet him at C Street,'” Although the identity of “S” was initially obscured, Fox News has confirmed that it refers to Kerry.
While the exact nature of the meeting remains unclear, Fox News reported that during this time, both Archer and Hunter had been serving on the board of the infamous Burisma Holdings.
During this time, then-Vice President Joe Biden had just returned from Ukraine, a trip during which he urged Ukrainian officials to dismiss Shokin, the nation’s top prosecutor.
Biden had issued a threat to withhold $1 billion in congressionally-approved aid unless Shokin was fired. Shokin was also conducting an investigation into Burisma, the same company where both Hunter and Devon worked.
In a tell-all interview, Shokin spoke candidly about what he believed to be a bribery between Biden and Burisma. “I have said repeatedly in my previous interviews that Poroshenko fired me at the insistence of the then Vice President Biden because I was investigating Burisma,” Shokin told Fox on Saturday.
Upon the initial release of the email in 2019, Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Ron Johnson, R-Wis., expressed concerns about the meeting, sparking a letter to then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The GOP duo requested access to all records related to the controversial meeting, according to Fox News.
“E-mails recently obtained and made public through a FOIA request indicate that Burisma’s consulting firm used Hunter Biden’s role on Burisma’s board to gain access and potentially influence matters at the State Department,” the senators wrote in November 2019.
The House Oversight and Ways and Means Committee, both led by Republicans, are currently investigating the damning allegations of the bribery scandal that has engulfed the Biden presidency ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., hinted during an interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that the House could soon initiate an impeachment inquiry against Biden over the alleged political corruption.
