Fired-up Cruz Questions Biden’s ‘Mental Faculties’, Demands Impeachment

'His mental faculties are too diminished right now...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is torching President Joe Biden’s unwillingness to negotiate over increasing the debt ceiling and called on the U.S. Congress to impeach the Democrat president if he is implicated in Hunter Biden’s shady foreign business schemes.

In an interview with Fox News’s Hannity, Cruz responded to host Sean Hannity’s suggestion that Biden could be impeached over a scathing report that claims Biden, then as vice president, is tied to a criminal scheme.

“It doesn’t have to be a high crime or misdemeanor because the Constitution specifies that impeachment lies for treason, bribery, other high crimes or misdemeanors,” Cruz told Hannity. “Bribery is explicitly noted in the Constitution. And I’ve got to say, the evidence, not only against Hunter Biden, but the evidence against Joe Biden being complicit and profiting from this corruption is growing and growing and growing.”

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, and Rep. James Comer R-Ky., called on the FBI to produce an unclassified record of an alleged criminal bribery scheme that involved Biden, then Obama’s vice president, and a foreign national

“The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself,” Comer said in the letter to the FBI. “Senator Grassley and I will seek the truth to ensure accountability for the American people.”

While the lawmakers did not provide further details on the alleged scheme, they asserted that they obtained the information from a “highly credible whistleblower” who contacted them.

Biden, who is currently on a standoff with Republicans about the debt ceiling, has denied any wrongdoing.

Cruz, alongside several Republican lawmakers, held a press conference Thursday to call out the Democrat Party’s refusal to negotiate the debt ceiling.

“Then-Vice President Joe Biden came and negotiated a deal, a deal called the Budget Control Act, that was designed to cut $2.3 trillion dollar in spending,” Cruz said. “It was the most significant federal spending reform in modern times. That happened because Barack Obama blinked and Biden, Vice President Biden, sat down with House Republicans and reached a meaningful compromised.”

The Republican lawmaker also pointed out Biden’s flip-flop on the debt ceiling.

“President Joe Biden needs to do the same thing and I will say, sadly, the reason he hasn’t so far — I believed — is because his mental faculties are too diminished right now to do what he did in 2011 and sit down and actually work together on a solution to the problems,” he continued.

Biden, who is expected to meet congressional leaders on May 9, insisted that will not consider lowering the nation’s debt by cutting his administration’s reckless spending.

The federal government, according to the Treasury, is expected to run out of cash to pay its bill on June 1. Economists warn that if the federal government fails to increase the debt ceiling financial chaos could ensue.
