(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, claimed that President Joe Biden will be “directly responsible” for Russia’s annexation of the Ukraine, the Western Journal reported.
Biden and his comrade Kamala Harris have had some nasty words for Russian President Vladimir Putin in recent weeks, working themselves up into a frenzy over Ukraine.
On Tuesday, Biden continued his rhetorical war on Putin, calling the Russian’s long-standing presence in the region an “invasion.”
“If Russia goes further with this invasion, we stand prepared to go further,” the president said.
The mainstream media has speculated that an economic war could follow the war of words. Eventually, they believe that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization could get involved in its ham-fisted manner.
The word “invasion” is essential, according to the Associated Press, “because it sets the stage for what Biden said could become multiple waves of economic sanctions, in coordination with NATO allies and other countries who view Putin’s aggression as a violation of international law and a threat to order in Europe.”
In a statement released earlier this week, Cruz pointed out that this situation has been developing for a long time, and that nothing was done to address the crisis.
Cruz noted that the recent development is merely “the latest step in [Putin’s] obsessive drive to rebuild the Soviet Union, at the expense of the national security of the United States and our allies” and that it “must be met with an immediate response.”
Biden-Harris officials, Cruz said, “are to an enormous extent directly responsible for this crisis.”
“He and his administration instead settled for an endlessly deferred and wholly uncredible strategy of responding to Putin’s aggression after an invasion,” Cruz said. “They have pursued bizarre tactics like declassifying American intelligence and trying to shame Putin. That approach has failed.”
“No one is calling for the United States to intervene militarily on Ukraine’s behalf, and it would be a catastrophic mistake to do so,” Cruz said.
“Instead, the United States must impose devastating sanctions against Putin’s interests, including immediate and mandatory sanctions permanently putting an end to his Nord Stream 2 pipeline.”
Cruz noted that the economic and even military implications of the invasion could be devastating for Americans, yet Biden failed to do anything.
