Republicans on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform confirmed on Tuesday in a memorandum that SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, “likely originated” in the Wuhan Virology Institute with assistance from America’s federal health bureaucrats.
“Discovering the origins of this pandemic is the first step in a global defensive effort to stop future pandemics,” the Republican staff wrote.
The memo also asserts that “COVID-19 was likely modified through dangerous gain of function research,” that the World Health Organization covered up the bug’s origin, and that the Chinese Communist Party may conduct an “advanced bioweapons program” at the WIV.
Republicans called on Democrats to use their congressional majority to issue subpoenas and demand hearings with federal officials, especially those in the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which funded China’s coronavirus research.
“This should not be a partisan issue. Finding the origins of COVID-19 is a global issue,” the Republican staff wrote. “Republicans, with or without Democrats, will continue to press to hold China accountable for the deaths of more than 600,000 Americans and millions more worldwide.”
The memo cited three medical doctors who all testified that the virus emerged from the WIV.
Dr. Brett Giroir, a former four-star admiral in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, said the “most likely origin was an accidental infection of laboratory
personnel.”
Dr. Steven Quay said the “evidence conclusively establishes” that COVID-19 “came from a laboratory in Wuhan, China.”
Dr. Richard Muller said “every scientific test” has shown that the virus does not have a “zoonotic origin,” meaning that the virus did not emerge naturally.
There are no other viable COVID-19 origin theories, and there is no evidence for the wet market theory. Even the Chinese CDC said “that the Wuhan Market was not the source of the virus.”
“Over 80,000 samples from 209 species of animals associated with the Wuhan Market, and
around China, were examined for medical evidence of COVID-19 but zero samples were
positive,” the memo states.
The doctors likewise agreed that the Wuhan Virology Institute used gain-of-function research to increase transmissibility between humans.
COVID-19 “was pre-adapted for human-to-human transmission from the first
patient,” Quay said. “Specifically, the part of the virus that interacts with human cells was 99.5% optimized.”
Public documents and expert testimony also demonstrate that the National Institute of Health and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, run by coronavirus czar Anthony Fauci, funneled grants through EcoHealth Alliance to the WIV and other Chinese institutions and researchers.
Dr. Brett Giroir, a former four-star admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, acknowledged “multiple NIH grants to the EcoHealth Alliance all entitled’ Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.'”
The memo asserts that the World Health Organization “did not conduct an impartial investigation of the origins of COVID-19” because the CCP controlled the process, including the selection of scientists, the creation of the investigation’s itinerary, and power to edit the final report.
“The WHO cannot be relied upon to do an authoritative investigation, because it
is a multi-lateral organization with no authority to do anything in China that is not directly
approved by the Chinese Communist Party,” Giroir said.
The CCP may have concealed COVID-19’s origins to hide its bio-weapons programs.
Dr. David Asher confirmed that the CCP “does have a biological weapons program, which includes “synthetic biology and gain of function technology.”
