Fox aired the clip as a part of the network’s celebration of pride month, titled “America Together: LGBTQ+ Pride Month.”
The segment features Ryland Whittington, who was socially transitioned as a boy at age 5.
Reporter Bryan Llenas praised Ryland for having “extraordinary courage,” to share the story, “particularly at a time when trangender issues have been politicized.”
The segment discusses how “before Ryland could even speak, he managed to tell his parents that he was a boy.”
Ryland’s mother, Hillary, described how young Ryland was in physical pain while wearing dresses.
They also invoked their Christian faith as a reason for transitioning their child.
Hillary has recently released a book titled “Raising Ryland.”
Many conservative watchers of Fox were horrified at the apparent approval of this process.
Many conservative commentators, including Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro, blogger Matt Walsh and podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey, who railed against the piece.

It’s always the mother. Saying it was “painful” for her to wear a dress as a little girl. My daughters all wore dresses when they were little. Not it’s almost a battle to get them to wear one. It doesn’t mean I am going to trans them!

Sick. I wanted to be a boy when I was a child. I am very athletic, I liked to roughhouse, I HATED dresses, but that did not make me a boy. It made me a child. I am so glad that no one told me that because of those things I must be a boy.
