Congress’ Diversity Chief Broke Rules, Forced Janitors to Take DEI Training

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Elizabeth Buday, the director of Diversity, Inclusion and Dispute Resolution for the Architect of the Capitol, violated government ethics policies when implementing “training for the entire AOC workforce.”

The inspector general released a report concerning the matter, showing that the largely blue-collar workforce at AOC was put into an uncomfortable situation when forced into diversity training, the Daily Wire reported.

The investigation was spurred by a report from the inside, claiming that Buday had “abused her authority by placing subordinates in uncomfortable situations and described one specific contract acquired by the AOC pertaining to Agency wide training.”

The employee who told the Inspector General about the incident insisted on being anonymous for fear that the director of inclusion would “seek retribution if she found out a complaint was filed with the Office of the Inspector General.”

Investigators found that Buday violated company rules by attempting negotiations with contractors, despite not being a trained contract officer to do the diversity training.

Buday told investigators that she did not realize what she was doing was in violation of any other rules, and believed it was important to hire a specific firm because “not all companies or trainers would be able to relate to the blue collar employees of the AOC.”

“She was in violation of the AOC’s Contracting Manual when she attempted to coordinate a sole source contract with the vendor,” the report said.

Buday left her job at the end of July and the case was closed.

Buday, a white woman, previously worked in diversity roles at the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Department of Veterans Affairs, working with many minority audiences. A spokesperson for the AOC did not return a request for comment.

It is unclear what compulsory woke training Buday was putting together, or if it will happen in her absence.
