Comer Warns of Witness Intimidation, Narrow Focus in DOJ’s Hunter Probe

'We've got witnesses that are scared to death to come forward. They fear for their lives... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the House Oversight and Accountability chairman, said that he is deeply concerned that the Department of Justice is conducting a biased investigation of President Joe Biden’s degenerate son, Hunter Biden.

Comer, who is looking into Attorney General Merrick Garland’s investigation, said in an interview with Just the News that the Hunter Biden legal team is “testing the limits” of the judicial system.

For example, he suggested that they may be engaged in “witness intimidation” and other nefarious strategies, such as using “dark money groups” to move money around to “prominent high-ranking Democrat officials in Congress.”

Further, the White House has pressured Comer to cease his investigation, condemning him for “having the audacity to investigate.” According to the congressman, he has been thwarted at every turn. His witnesses, he said, are afraid to testify.

“We’ve got witnesses that are scared to death to come forward. They fear for their lives,” Comer said. “I mean, you’ve got the banks that have worked with us, they’re being squeezed by attorneys, by high-ranking officials in the Democrat Party for having the nerve to work with us to comply with our subpoenas.”

He also suggested that the DOJ has, possibly with intent, narrowed its focus too much in the investigation. Hunter Biden’s tax issues, for example, have mostly been ignored, per Comer.

“Look, his tax problems go back to at least 2014,” he said.

“He owes a lot more in taxes than what I’ve heard they’re wanting to indict him on. At the end of the day, if you look at all the potential charges and all the potential wrongdoing that Hunter Biden has done over the past decade, tax evasion for one or two years is a drop in the bucket.”

For Comer, this is but “another example of a privileged Democrat, getting away with things that no average, working, taxpaying American could get away with.”

The congressman concluded by noting that his committee plans to release an interim report in May to disclose what it has learned so far.

“We plan on being very transparent with the media and the American people in the next couple of weeks,” he said. “And I think that you will feel the earth shake in a few places.”
