Liz Cheney Reveals Plans for New Anti-Trump Org

'Liz, you're fired. Get outta here...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Since she is about to have a great deal of free time, recently defeated Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., announced that she will be starting a new anti-Donald Trump organization in order to stop him from being re-elected president in 2024, Just the News reported.

“In coming weeks, Liz will be launching an organization to educate the American people about the ongoing threat to our Republic, and to mobilize a unified effort to oppose any Donald Trump campaign for president,” Cheney spokesperson Jeremy Adler said.

Cheney, who lost her House primary to Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman by a margin of nearly 40 percentage points, will likely use the yet-unnamed organization to test the waters for a potential presidential run in 2024.

When asked by Today show host Savannah Guthrie whether or not she was interested in running for president, the lame-duck congresswoman said she would “make a decision in the coming months.”

Ultimately, though, Cheney commited to doing anything to keep Trump from winning.

“I will be doing whatever it takes to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office,” she told Guthrie.

Cheney’s primary defeat was the fourth-largest loss by a House incumbent since 1967.

Afterward, she claimed in her concession speech that the GOP’s shift toward Trumpism constituted a danger to the nation.

“We must be very clear-eyed about the threat we face,” she said in her concession speech during which she compared herself to Abraham Lincoln.

“The great and original champion of our party, Abraham Lincoln, was defeated in elections for the Senate and the House before he won the most important election of all,” Cheney said. “Lincoln ultimately prevailed, he saved our Union and he defined our obligation as Americans for all of history.”

Conservatives—including some of her House colleagues—subsequently derided her for her invocation of Lincoln, calling it a historical reach.

“Liz, you didn’t free any slaves,” said Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, according to Just the News.

“You didn’t do that,” Nehls continued. “And Abe was known as ‘Honest Abe.’ Liz, you’re a liar.”

At a rally following the victory, Trump slammed Cheney and fired her for the people of Wyoming.

“Liz, you’re fired. Get outta here,” the former president said to large applause, invoking his famouse catchphrase as host of NBC’s The Apprentice.
