(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Communication between top officials in the Biden regime’s Justice Department, including AG Merrick Garland, are part of a subpoena issued in an ongoing investigation of the far-leftist Panorama Education company that was co-founded by Garland’s son-in-law.
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt sent a civil investigative demand, which in Missouri acts as a subpoena, to the company as part of his office’s investigation into surveys that were used in state school districts to collect data on students’ sexuality, political views, parents’ income, and that contained “racially-biased” questions, according to Fox News.
Panorama Education was one of the companies that created the surveys. In addition to probing for student data, Panorama Education also reaps huge profits from providing public schools across the country with curricular materials promoting critical race theory and other radical leftist dogma.
Garland came under fire last October when he signed a memorandum instructing the Justice Department to investigate and prosecute parents who expressed concerns about the propaganda being pushed for profit in public schools by companies like Panorama Education, co-founded by Garland’s son-in-law.
Along with requesting any communication between Panorama Education and Garland or his minions at the Justice Department, the subpoena issued by Missouri’s AG also sought information on how Panorama collects and stores data from the student surveys and who has access to that data, Fox News reported.
“Subjecting students to personal, invasive surveys created by third-party consultants, potentially without parents’ consent, is ridiculous and does nothing to further our children’s education,” Schmitt said when he first issued subpoenas to school districts.
Panorama Education, and by extension Garland’s connection to the company through his son-in-law, has come under past scrutiny for its leftist materials, including the promotion of a school “resource” that claimed Trump rally supporters and “murderous police officers” were examples of “White supremacy.”
“AG Garland ordered the DOJ to use its vast national security powers to target parents who object to critical race theory being forced onto innocent children,” watchdog group American First Legal said at the time.
“It is therefore exceptionally urgent that the department disclose all records pertaining to the Garland family’s financial interest in critical race theory and any and all ethical conflicts that arise from that financial interest.”
Schmitt’s investigation and subpoena for information doesn’t appear to go that far, but it marks a start to what could be a potential barrage of additional concerns, questions and probes.
