Biden Brings Drag to the White House for Gay Marriage Bill Signing

'Grateful doesn’t begin to express the emotions I feel... '

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden will be signing the ironically named Respect for Marriage Act this week, and in order to properly celebrate the occasion he invited a non-binary drag queen to the White House.

The drag queen, whose real name is Marti Cummings, posted a photo of the invitation to Twitter, accepting the invite and expressing excitement for the event.

“To be a non binary drag artist invited to the White House is something I never imagined would happen,” the tweet reads. “Thank you President & Dr. Biden for inviting me to this historic bill signing. Grateful doesn’t begin to express the emotions I feel.”

According to the Post Millennial, Cummings is a former city council candidate for New York City’s 7th district, and an alleged TV personality.

Cummings has also performed at drag queen brunches where children are present, and also hosts story telling for children.

At a 2019 drag brunch a video was taken of scantily-clad Cummings performing “Baby Shark” for a two-year-old. The drag queen sang the song from a table, jumping off while lip-syncing to the song.

Cummings also hosted several virtual “Drag Queen Story Hours” via Facebook throughout the pandemic.

“I love doing Drag Story Hour,” Cummings wrote in a Facebook post. “Despite what conservatives say, this family friend event is a way to spread joy, teach acceptance & love.”

” [It’s] a way to bring people together,” the performer added. “Kids just want to hear their favorite stories… keep spreading hate because I’m gonna keep spreading joy.”

The Biden administration is working hard to garner the approval of the LGBT crowd as of late.

Recently Biden invited TikToker Dylan Mulvaney to the White House to talk about his transition. The White House staff also traded Brittney Griner, a gay WNBA player who was imprisoned in Russia, for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, who is also known as the “merchant of death.”
