Aussie Lockdown Fiasco a Grim Warning for Blue-State COVIDians

'They want that part of the country to open those borders. Really? Why would that be?'

Melbourne, Australia‘s COVID-19 cases have reached record levels, despite the Australian government’s tyrannical measures taken to lock down their country, Reuters reported.

Disturbingly, leftists have looked to Australia as a model for enacting bureaucratic control over citizens.

Australia has become increasingly totalitarian in recent years, especially as its state-controlled media machine spreads fear and panic among the citizens.

The nation—particularly its large cities—has taken extreme, but largely ineffectual measures to slow the virus.

Western Australia has virtually no COVID cases because it controls its borders while allowing its citizens to live freely.

But in urban centers, such as Melbourne, the virus has spread rapidly because borders have remained open and extreme lockdown measures have led to private, in-home gatherings instead.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson commented on the tyrannical lockdowns, drawing parallels between measures taken in Australia and those taken in blue state America, as reported by Politicrossing.

“Here’s the revealing thing. In Australia, the federal government is angry that western Australia has closed its borders,” Carlson said. “They want that part of the country to open those borders. Really? Why would that be?”

He also pointed to the tottering nation’s absurd vaccination policy—a policy that reflects Joe Biden‘s recent mandate—as a look at where blue states, or the United States as a whole, may be headed.

“Ohh. So, you have to get vaccinated to have any of your freedoms, but even if you are vaccinated, you’re not allowed to go to church,” Carlson said. “So, what is the point of vaccination? Why did the federal government in Australia lock everybody down if there’s no actual way to stop the lockdowns?”

Like Biden and other Democrat leaders in the US, Australian State Premier Daniel Andrews blamed the people for the surge in cases, complaining that they did not adequately follow his tedious instructions.

“Many of these cases were completely avoidable… I’m not trying to blame anyone, I’m simply trying to explain because a lot of people will be scratching their heads—how could it have gone up by so much, so fast?”
