AOC Demands Senate Majority Move on Left Agenda NOW, Before a Democrat Dies

'Dems are burning precious time & impact negotiating w/GOP who won’t even vote for a Jan 6 commission...'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, should drop all negotiations with Republicans and pass radical left-wing legislation before a Democrat dies, stalling the agenda.

Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., died in August 2009 after the Democrats won a 60-seat, filibuster-proof majority for the first time since the 1970s.

Gov. Deval Patrick appointed Sen. Paul G. Kirk to the seat until the special election in January 2010, when Scott Brown, a Republican won the seat and stripped Democrats of their supermajority.

The current Senate is composed of the oldest members in history, at an average age of 64.3 years.

Sens. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., is less than two weeks away from turning 88, and Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., is 81. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., will turn 80 this year.

Ocasio-Cortez claimed that bipartisan negotiations and inaction will lead to devastating climate change, continued corporate greed, and the loss of voting rights.

She said Democrats need to pass President Joe Biden‘s infrastructure bill, which allocates money for climate change and social welfare programs to the exclusion of funding for airports, roads, bridges, and canals.

Ocasio-Cortez said “moderate” Democrats, especially Sens. Joe Manchin, D-Wv., and Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., need to join the plan to kill the filibuster and crush all Republican opposition.
