(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A group of Hollywood celebrities drew mockery online after joining forces for a short video pledging to uphold the U.S. Constitution ahead of Constitution Day.
Jamie Lee Curtis, Noah Wyle, Robert De Niro and Ramon Gerard Estevez appear in the nearly 40-second video for the so-called Oath Project, an initiative launched by the left-wing American Constitution Society.
The campaign does not appear to have much of a concrete goal, strangely asking participants to simply record themselves reciting the oath and share the video online using the hashtag “TheOathProject.”
The video begins with participants introducing themselves and reciting the oath before they urge others to do the same.

In addition to the actors, the video features J. Michael Luttig, a retired federal judge, and Isaiah “Ike” Wilson III, an Arizona State University professor.
On X, critics mocked the video as yet another social media campaign from wealthy celebrities to lecture Americans on how to vote or what to think.
Perhaps the most infamous campaign came in 2016, when filmmaker Joss Whedon organized a celebrity-studded “Save the Day” video ahead of the presidential election.
The project, which featured actors like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Don Cheadle, appeared designed to encourage younger voters to turn out.
The video was widely seen as an effort to get people to support Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. Donald Trump went on to win the election that year.
Hollywood made a similar attempt in 2020.
W Magazine released an “I vote” celebrity video that featured Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Adam Sandler, Shia LaBeouf and others. The clip encouraged Americans to register and vote.
In 2020, actors who had played lawyers on television shows including The Good Wife‘s Julianna Margulies, Suits‘ Dulé Hill and Law & Order‘s Sam Waterston appeared in a relay-style video urging real lawyers to protect the 2020 election.
In 2024, the actors who played the Avengers gathered in a video to urge people to vote for Kamala Harris in the election that year.
