‘Slap Him Back Into Place’: Critics Blame Biden for FBI Seizure of Adams’ Phones

'[T]hey even regime changing New York City...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) In a move that has ignited a firestorm of controversy, the FBI recently seized the cellphones of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, prompting widespread accusations that the Biden administration is targeting a prominent Democratic critic of President Joe Biden.

The incident has renewed concerns raised after the FBI’s earlier raid on the home of a key fundraiser for Adams, initially thought to be unrelated to the mayor himself.

Critics took to Twitter to voice their suspicions about the apparent escalation in federal scrutiny. The focal point of their claims revolves around allegations that the Turkish government funded Adams’ mayoral campaign.

Ashley St. Clair, a conservative influencer, was quick to articulate the sentiments of many, emphasizing what she saw as a suspicious timeline.

“September: Eric Adams slams Biden on migrant crisis, ‘This is just wrong.’ October: Eric Adams visits Mexico to tell migrants ‘New York City has reached capacity and we don’t want to turn your aspiration for dreams into a nightmare.’ November: Eric Adams investigated by FBI,” she said on Twitter.

Mike Benz, the executive director of Foundation For Freedom Online, joined the chorus, suggesting a deeper political agenda. “[T]hey even regime changing New York City…” Benz said, to which St. Clair responded, “they gotta slap him back into place.”

These sentiments were echoed by Robby Starbuck, a Cuban American podcast host, who asserted, “Democrats let other Democrats get away with everything. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is anything but Biden settling a beef he has with Eric Adams because Adams committed the sin of highlighting Joe’s open border disaster. If he covered for Joe, Joe would cover for him.”

Radio show host Clay Travis added his perspective, noting the timing of events. “So New York City mayor Eric Adams said Joe Biden was doing a bad job on the migrant crisis and now Biden’s FBI just seized Adams’s cell phones and iPad as part of an election investigation. Probably a total coincidence,” he said.

This is not the first time such accusations have been hurled against the Biden administration. After the FBI’s previous raid on the chief fundraiser for Adams, Twitter was flooded with speculation about potential political motivations.

The allegations began after Adams canceled a planned meeting with the White House following the FBI raid of his campaign aide. The White House swiftly rejected any insinuations of foul play.

“This rumor is false,” a Biden official told the New York Post last week. “Mayor Adams canceled his participation in the meeting yesterday.”

Adams, on the other hand, maintained that he canceled the meeting to attend to the fallout from the FBI’s raid on his aide’s home.

“As a human being, I was concerned about a young 25-year-old staffer that went through a traumatic experience,” Adams said. “I did not speak with Brianna on that day because I didn’t want to give any appearance of interference.”

Adams said he wanted to show leadership and thus canceled the meeting. “When you have something like that action that took place, your team is looking at you. Your presence is everything. And I wanted to be here not only among my campaign team, but my City Hall team,” Adams said. “You can’t govern by optics; you have to govern by action.”
