(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Following the FBI raid of NYC Mayor Eric Adams’s top fundraiser Brianna Suggs, Twitter critics flooded the social media platform, accusing the Biden administration of targeting the mayor’s inner circles as a result of Adams’s scorching criticism of Biden’s open borders.
The FBI is investigating potential illegal campaign contributions from the Turkish government to the Adams campaign, a violation of federal law, according to the New York Post.
The speculation began after NBC News correspondent for investigations, Tom Winter, took to Twitter to announce that the raid occurred as Adams canceled meetings with Biden officials on Thursday.

“Is Biden putting out a hit on Eric Adams because Adams has excoriated him about the border crisis?” one Twitter user said on Friday, while another added, “NYC Mayor #EricAdams criticized Joe Biden’s immigration policies and now Federal prosecutors & FBI are conducting a corruption investigation against him… coincidence ?!?”
Another Twitter user brought concerns about the timing of the raid, saying, “This occurred a day after Eric Adams requested more funding and openly criticized Biden for the migrant crisis. In response, Biden sent a clear message, essentially saying, ‘You better get in line. Consider this a warning shot.’”
While there is no immediate evidence that Biden himself played any role in the raid, both Adams and Biden have been at odds after the mayor began rebuking what has been widely criticized as open border chaos, with an unprecedented number of illegal aliens flooding the streets of NYC.
In fact, the FBI is currently investigating the Adams campaign’s alleged ties with a Brooklyn construction company with alleged connections to Turkey, as well as a small Washington, D.C.-based university. The bureau is seeking to determine whether the mayor’s campaign provided the funds back to the construction company or to Turkish officials.

Upon the raid, Adams was en route to D.C. to meet with the Congressional delegation of New York and the White House. He swiftly returned to the city to address the matter, according to a media report.
According to the NY Post, Adams stood by his campaign, saying, “Where’s there’s smoke, there’s not always fire. … I have full confidence in [Suggs]. She has done an amazing job,” Adams continued, adding, “She will stay with the campaign team.”
In response to circulating rumor that the White House disinvited Adams over the raid, a White House official denied the allegations. “This rumor is false,” a White House official told the NY Post on Friday. “Mayor Adams canceled his participation in the meeting yesterday.”
