(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Israeli spokesperson Ofir Gendelman released photos allegedly showing a group of Gazans bathing at a beach in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
“These pictures were taken today at the Deir Al-Balah beach in the central part of the Gaza Strip,” said Gendelman, who serves as Arab media spokesperson for the Israeli’s prime minister. “Israel only targets Hamas-ISIS and does everything possible to save civilian lives in Gaza.”

The photos emerged as Hamas reportedly holds at least 229 individuals captive following a terrorist attack on Oct. 7. 10 Americans are among the missing.
Confirming the American hostages’ status on Friday, the State Department pledged efforts to locate and secure the release of those kidnapped. Two Americans were released after Qatari intervention, coinciding with the announcement of $100 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza.
Following the terrorist attack, the Israeli government launched airstrikes in an attempt to dismantle the Hamas terrorist group, leading to the blockade of electricity and water in the Hamas-governed region.

Some commentators pointed out that the beach photos depicted individuals not necessarily having leisure, but rather doing necessary chores like laundry.
“You’re literally posting photos of people washing clothes and people bathing in the ocean after Israel bombed the living hell out of their neighborhoods and killed their families,” said Remi Kanazi, a Palestinian-American author. “Gaza is a coastal strip. They aren’t chilling at the beach, that’s where they were displaced to.”
Far-left members of the U.S. Congress have called for the American government to take refugees from the Gaza, citing the humanitarian crisis.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., led those calls, which were quickly met with opposition from prominent Republican lawmaker. Prominent lawmakers, including Reps. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., called on Arab countries to take in refugees from Gaza.
However, both Jordan and Egypt refused to accept refugees from Gaza, calling it a “red line.”

“There will be no refugees in Jordan and no refugees in Egypt,” King Abdullah II of Jordan declared, highlighting that the crisis must be controlled within Israel. “That is a red line because I think that is the plan by certain of the usual suspects to try and create de facto issues on the ground.”
