(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former President Barack Obama faced a barrage of criticism following the publication of a lengthy statement expressing support for Palestinians.
In the Tuesday remarks, the former Democratic president seemed to condemn the actions of Israeli forces, suggesting that they were not adequately safeguarding the lives of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
JUST IN: Barack Obama is calling out Israel for their strategy against Hamas in Gaza, saying their aggressive actions that harm civilians could hurt them more in the long run.

“[A]ny Israeli military strategy that ignores the human costs could ultimately backfire. Already, thousands of Palestinians have been killed in the bombing of Gaza, many of them children. Hundreds of thousands have been forced from their homes,” Obama claimed of Israel’s response to Hamas’s terrorist attack on Oct. 7.
“It’s therefore important that those of us supporting Israel in its time of need encourage a strategy that can incapacitate Hamas while minimizing further civilian casualties,” he added.

The statement quickly sparked ignited fiery criticism from various individuals on Twitter.
Jeff Jacoby, a columnist for the Boston Globe, did not mince his words in reaction to Obama’s statement. “Oh, look, the guy who told the world that ISIS was a trivial ‘J.V. team,’ who did nothing when Syria crossed his ‘red line’ and gassed children, who assured Putin he would be ‘flexible’ and let him seize Crimea, and who lavished Iran with money has thoughts on the Middle East,” he said on Twitter.
Actor James Woods expressed similar sentiments, stating, “Don’t bother. We already know where you stand. Or rather kneel.”
Liberal journalist Sarah Ouraxo also joined the chorus of disapproval, criticizing Obama’s record. “The man who backed two Israeli genocides in Gaza; bombed Libya back to the Stone Age; and armed and funded Al-Qaeda in Syria, wants to lecture us about international law,” she remarked.
Collin Rugg, co-founder of Trending Politics, highlighted Obama’s own use of force as president, stating, “That’s rich coming from someone who dropped over 26,000 bombs in a single year.”
Fox News guest Tom Lahren raised concerns about anti-Semitism, pointing out the chants and the election of Hamas in Gaza.
“So Obama wants Israel to take a step back so Palestinians aren’t “hardened” for generations,” she said. “Newsflash BO: they are born chanting “death to Jews and death to America.” They also ELECTED Hamas to represent them. They are already ‘hardened.’”
