(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Chaos erupted at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday after a group of pro-Hamas hecklers stormed the Cannon Rotunda, violently clashing with law enforcement officials in protest of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip.
The group, reportedly led by the Jewish Voice for Peace organization, forcibly penetrated the Capitol and assaulted police officers in a heated protest, while also demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.

Shouting “Ceasefire now! Ceasefire now!” the rioters attempted to force the U.S. Congress to call on Israel to stop its military actions against the Hamas terror group.
350 individuals, including two dozen of rabbis, participated in the chaotic protest, Jewish Voice for Peace claimed in a statement. Moments before the breach, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., gave a speech to rally, seemingly inciting the protests. “It’s not a threat,” Tlaib said. “They think we joking.”

Video footage widely shared on social media showed a group of protestors being detained by law enforcement, while others wore black t-shirts with the slogan, “Jews Say Ceasefire Now!”

The U.S. Capitol Police swiftly responded to the breach, warning that protesting inside the Capitol is against the law.
“Demonstrations are not allowed inside Congressional Buildings.” the USCP said on Twitter. “Arrests in the Canon Rotunda and the rolling road closures are ongoing. Amongst these arrests, three people have been arrested and charged with Assault on a Police Officer during processing.”

The Capitol Police revealed that a scant total of three individuals were arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer during the disturbance.
Following the chaotic events, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., called for a congressional investigation into the incident, urging the preservation of all related records and video evidence.

The protest itself echoed the earlier calls for a ceasefire by the infamous “Hamas Caucus” of the House of Representatives, led by leftist members of the “Squad.”
Squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., faced tough questioning during her appearance on CNN on Monday.
Notably, CNN host Abby Phillip asked a dismayed Ocasio-Cortez.
“What is Israel supposed to do about Hamas after they’ve murdered, brutalized, abducted over a thousand of their citizens,” Phillip pressed. “Are they supposed to just do nothing?”
