(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson recently published a tell-all memoir of her time in the Trump administration, revealing that then-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows accidentally consumed several White Claws in a Monday morning meeting.
Meadows, an avowed Southern Baptist, never consumed alcohol before that day, and drank three of the beverages—mistaking them for sparkling water—before realizing his mistake, according to the Daily Mail.
“I know you girls keep my fridge stocked with sparkling water, so I went and got one. I sat back down and took a sip and thought, ‘Wow, this is real good!'” Meadows said according to Hutchinson. “I looked at it and saw it was Blackberry and thought, ‘The girls never got me this one before.'”
Meadows also enjoyed a grapefruit White Claw.
He offered former White House budget director and a “faithful Mormon,” Ross Vought, one of the cans. Vought reportedly looked at him strangely and refused.
Meadows then caught on to the fact that the seltzer was alcoholic.
‘My head started feeling funny, and I look down at the can and saw that it was alcohol,” said Meadows. “I’m drinking alcohol on a Monday morning, and I’ve never even had a drink before.”
Left-wing news pundits poked fun at Meadows for getting “totally hammered.”
“Accidentally being very drunk at the office while having had his first ever alcoholic beverages completely by accident and through no fault of his own is a very funny scene,” Rachel Maddow said on MSNBC.
Hutchinson explained that the White Claws in the fridge were leftover from the 2020 election celebration.
Hutchinson’s book came out a year after her testimony in front of the January 6 House Committee where she spun fantastic tales of Trump’s tenure in the White House.
In her book, Enough, Hutchinson also claimed that Rudy Giuliani groped her on January 6. Guiliani’s office is contemplating legal action in reaction to these claims.
