(Corine Gatti, Headline USA) Alarming videos from Lahaina, Maui, showed miles of black curtains preventing people and the media from seeing the devastating truth at the source site of catastrophic wildfires in Hawaii that wiped out people and property this month.
A citizen journalist on TikTok took a video of the barrier, referred to as “The Biden Curtain” with a caption reading: “Miles and miles of black fencing being put up in Lahaina. Ground Zero is now behind the Biden curtain,” Geoff Cygnus posted on Monday. “There seems to be a huge emphasis on ensuring that the media and anyone else can’t see what’s going on.”
WND reported there were miles of this black fence going up that was not erected before concealing ground zero, ensuring no one could see what was going on inside of there from the road, “no one can get in there, no one can take any pictures,” Cygnus reported.
Moments later, Cygnus was chased off by the National Guard and allegedly told to get back in his car and keep moving. “So you cannot pull over. You can’t even stop your car anywhere near any of this anymore,” he said.
The situation took on a more menacing tone, with not only the National Guard’s presence but also regular police and foreign made “special police” vehicles with non-standard officers present.
“The people that are driving them are not – they don’t look like any police I’ve ever seen in the United States,” Cygnus said. “So kind of a bizarre situation, but they have a huge presence standing guard ensuring that nothing can be documented.”
The journalist expressed concern for his safety while reporting on the aftermath of the fire. He said people need to keep talking about the truth, ensuring that the story would still be told if something happened to him.
Meanwhile, conservative and Hollywood actor James Wood slammed the handling of the fires and the ensuing callous response.
Many conservatives joined Woods, sharing accounts regarding the fire, with one noting it was strange that all the mega-mansions survived. “The land taken by fire was all owned by Native Hawaiians, their by right of birth. My belief? This was done on purpose.”
The sticky fingers are in place to take it all and develop everything without any input said another about potential land grabs.

In the interim, Maui officials reportedly asked FEMA to stop posting new imagery of the disaster on social media. A letter from FEMA’s Office of External Affairs Director stated that they have not been asked to remove any photos or videos but are working with the county for further guidance.
A letter posted on by Anthony Cabassa showed an Aug. 19 correspondence from FEMA Office of External Affairs Director Justin Angel Knighten, who stated:
“Our team on the ground is coordinating with the county for further guidance to ensure we remain fully aligned. Cultural sensitivity is of the utmost importance in all our response and recovery activities to this disaster.”
“A person wishing to stay anonymous has sent me this email by FEMA sent to their nonprofit who is headed to Maui to help with disaster relief,” Cabasa reported. “They say they are being asked to STOP posting any images or videos while on the ground effective immediately.”

Officials were working hard to ensure a media blackout. There was speculation as to whether “cultural sensitivity” was their only concern or if they are attempting to conceal something more questionable, according to various reports.
