(Headline USA) A panel on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” this week mocked conservative Christians who support former President Donald Trump and suggested they are going to hell.
Citing a recent CBS News/YouGov poll that found voters who plan to support Trump in the GOP primary trust the former president more than their family and friends, the media and even their religious leaders, host Joe Scarborough claimed these voters shouldn’t even be considered Christians.

“We’ve been hearing for so long that Iowa voters are deeply religious. ‘Oh, they’re truly Christian evangelicals. Oh, if you go to Iowa, then you love Jesus so much!'” Scarborough said to Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson.
“Now what do we find out? They trust a four-time-indicted reality TV show host who a New York judge called a rapist, who bragged about sexually molesting women … now twice as many of them basically say, ‘We trust that guy over a minister of Jesus Christ.'”
Robinson then claimed that Christian Trump voters will “never be redeemed.”
“It’s just what those numbers suggest is that a whole lot of people in Iowa are going to hell! Right? They are not going to be redeemed!” he said.
Scarborough quickly chimed in to claim that Robinson was “joking,” but even co-host Mika Brzezinski appeared disturbed by the remarks.
In a different segment, Scarborough brought up the poll once again and claimed that the only reason people still support Trump are because they’re in a “cult.”
“And then this is the most shocking thing coming from the evangelical church,” he said.
“Nearly 30% more people blindly follow their cult leader, Donald Trump, than their own religious leaders that say, please don’t tell me about how this is a Jesus thing,” he continued. “It’s not a Jesus thing. It’s a cult thing.”
Scarborough himself is no stranger to facing public accusations for crimes, as Trump currently is in four separate lawfare attacks being waged by partisan Democrat prosecutors, some of whom ran on a platform of indicting Trump and were funded in their efforts by billionaire George Soros.
Before turing into a far-left talkshow host, Scarborough was a Republican lawmaker from Florida, but he resigned in disgrace after he came under suspicion in the death of an intern in his office.
Trump brought up the accusation during the 2020 election.
