Georgia Senator Launches Probe to Impeach Fulton County DA for ‘Abusing Her Position of Power’

'I will not be a sitting senator in this state and potentially have the former president executed...'

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Georgia Sen. Colton Moore wrote a letter to the state’s governor, Brian Kemp, on Thursday to demand that he convene an emergency hearing into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for what he said is her politically motivated prosecution of former President Donald Trump—a move that could possibly lead to Willis’s impeachment.

“As a Georgia State Senator, I am officially calling for an emergency session to review the actions of Fani Willis,” Moore said Thursday.

“America is under attack. I’m not going to sit back and watch as radical left prosecutors politically TARGET political opponents.”

Moore also started an online petition for voters to lobby Kemp to convene the hearing.

“Corrupt District Attorney Fani Willis is potentially abusing her position of power by pursuing former President Donald J. Trump, and I am calling on my colleagues in the Georgia legislature to join me in calling for an emergency session to investigate and review her actions and determine if they warrant impeachment,” Moore said in the petition.

“I am demanding that we defund her office until we find out what the hell is going on,” he said. “We cannot stand idly by as corrupt prosecutors choose to target their political opposition.”

In an interview with conservative talk show host Charlie Kirk on Thursday, Moore explained the goal behind his letter to Kemp.

“If it turns out she’s corrupt like many of us suspect, then it’s time for impeachment,” he said.

Moore further elucidated the gravity of Willis pursuing Trump, saying that the former president could face the death penalty if found guilty in Georgia.

“I will not be a sitting senator in this state and potentially have the former president executed,” he said.

It’s not clear whether Moore’s lobbying of Kemp will have any effect, as the governor has pushed back against Trump’s claims that the Georgia presidential election was rigged in 2020.

As Headline USA has reported, Kemp is aligned with the World Economic Forum, which promotes anti-liberty and anti-human policies, including lockdowns, vaccine mandates and trans-humanism—as summarized by its slogan: “Welcome to 2030. I own nothing, have no privacy, and life has never been better.”

Kemp attended a WEF forum earlier this year.

The governor has not publicly responded to Moore.
