Propane Explosions Near Phoenix Airport Trigger Terrorism Fears

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) The explosion of multiple propane tanks near Phoenix, Arizona’s Sky Harbor International Airport caused panic as residents feared potential acts of terrorism, Fox 10 Phoenix reported.

The explosions took place Thursday afternoon at a local propane-distribution company. When authorities arrived on the scene, they witnessed numerous explosions of 5-gallon propane tanks in all directions.

The explosions extended as far as 500 yards each way.

According to Phoenix fire officials, the crisis required the evacuation of surrounding buildings.

“Firefighters isolated the hazard area, evacuated multiple homes and businesses and attacked the flames with elevated master streams,” read a portion of a statement released by fire officials. “The fire was then surrounded and the bursting tanks cooled stopping the explosions.”

Evacuations included the Arizona Animal Welfare League, which has an office in the vicinity.

Sky Harbor officials said that they monitored the fire, but added that it in no way affected the airport’s other operations.

No injuries were reported as a result of the explosions.

The blast, however, was serious enough to shut down the local metro, with all trains near the area being halted.

While some might attribute the explosions to a recent heat wave in the region which has reached triple-digit temperatures for much of July, potentially igniting the volatile gas, others, like conservative pundit J.D. Rucker had their suspicions that it may have been a deliberate attack on a target just 150 miles from the porous Mexican border.

“Skeptics of the theory that these incidents are attacks would argue that propane is vulnerable to accidents like this will happen,” Rucker wrote for the Liberty Daily. “This is true. But it’s also true that they are happening at a far greater frequency than any other time in memory.”

The propane tank explosions were yet another instance in a long string of bizarre events–from train derailments to the explosion of food processing plants to strange hazy clouds enveloping large swaths of the nation—that have been ignored by the mainstream media.

Whether the stretch of casualty-free disasters indicates an orchestrated assault, or merely the crumbling infrastructure of an increasingly-incompetent nation, the fact remains that that Americans are owed an explanation.

“I’m not suggesting that EVERY incident is intentional, but there have been so many ‘unexplained’ incidents over the last two years that it’s foolish to not consider the possibility that we’re being targeted from within,” Rucker wrote.
