(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) The Biden Justice Department is set to perpetrate what many legal pundits have criticized as a political weaponization of the federal government and gross election interference by indicting former President Donald Trump for violating the Espionage Act and obstructing justice.
According to The Independent, Merrick Garland’s gang of DOJ prosecutors “is preparing to ask a Washington, DC grand jury” to approve an indictment against Trump, possibly as soon as this week, for violating parts of the US criminal code known as Section 793, which prohibits the “gathering, transmitting or losing” of national defense information.
News of the looming indictment broke as federal prosecutors on Wednesday informed Trump that he is the target of a criminal investigation, in what Politico called “the clearest signal yet that special counsel Jack Smith is on the verge of a charging decision in his probe of the former president.”
The charges stem for claims that Trump stashed classified documents and tried to conceal them from federal agents. Biden’s DOJ launched its infamous militarized raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home as part of its investigation.
Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, has reportedly agreed to a plea deal as part of the DOJ’s investigation, in exchange for receiving immunity for flipping on his old boss.

Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday and blistered the “witch hunt” investigation and said that “No one has told me I’m being indicted, and I shouldn’t be because I’ve done NOTHING wrong,” he wrote.
Conservative pundit and attorney Rogan O’Handley on Wednesday posted a Twitter thread that he said explained why the DOJ was in such haste to indict Trump and sabotage his 2024 presidential bid.
The tweet included a document reported to be from the Federal Registrar that Trump signed the day before he left office “declassifying ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ docs showing Obama, Biden, the CIA, DOJ, and FBI spied on him,” O’Handley wrote.
Crossfire Hurricane was the name given to the now debunked investigation into fabulist Russia collusion allegations.
“Now you know why they raided Mar a Lago,” O’Handley wrote. “To steal back evidence of their crimes.”
