WATCH: Congressional Witness Exposes Democrats’ Electoral Big Lie

'Abrams’s refusal [to concede] in 2018 is when it became apparent to me as a state representative just how damaging misinformation and disinformation are to our country... '

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) A congressional witness unleashed a barrage of facts to counter the leftist talking point that American elections are ridden with voter suppression, during a House Subcommittee on Elections hearing that effectively pushed back against the Democrats’ lies about election security.

Subcommittee Chairwoman Laurel Lee, R-Fla., introduced the session by emphasizing the need for electoral reforms and voter security.

“Our hearing today will highlight how voters across the country are demanding reforms to ensure that every eligible American voter can be confident that they will have access to the ballot box and that their ballot will be counted according to established law,”  Lee said.

Lee’s comments were backed by Scot Turner, a former member of the Georgia legislature, who torched Democrats for constantly spewing conspiracy theories about elections, particularly the 2016 election.

“Faith in the results of elections is vitally key for the health of our republic. But more and more, that faith is shaken by false allegations,” Turner said.

“The 2016 presidential election was marred by allegations of Russian hacking. And while evidence showed that the hacking was of email servers, by December of 2016, half of Democrat voters believed that Russians had changed vote tallies in favor of Donald Trump,” the former state representative continued.

According to The Federalist, Democrats have attempted to tarnish conservative activists who have expressed concern about election integrity in the U.S. The article specially highlights how Big Tech platforms shielded the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, dubbing it as Russian disinformation without evidence.

Turner named Stacey Abrams, the twice-failed candidate for Georgia governor, as a Democrat who has claimed the 2018 and 2022 elections were stolen from her by Republicans.

“Abrams’s refusal [to concede] in 2018 is when it became apparent to me as a state representative just how damaging misinformation and disinformation are to our country,” Turner said.

Abrams has been embraced by the legacy media as some sort of defender of voter rights and democracy, despite constantly promoting the baseless lie that her candidacies failed because of so-called voter disenfranchisement. She has even blasted several election security laws championed by the state government, falsely accusing them of Republican plots to steal elections.

“At each step of the way and with every improvement to the voting process, the Georgia General Assembly has had critics screaming at them that what they’re doing is wrong, racist, and will hurt communities of various types,” Turner said.

“And just like the claims that Russia hacked the election and changed votes, or that Abrams lost because of ‘voter suppression,’ or that the election was stolen, the data and evidence don’t back up those claims.”

However, the same treatment has not been awarded to conservatives. Just on Thursday, two members of the Oath Keepers were punished with hefty sentences after protesting the 2020 election on January 6. The Gateway Pundit reported that Stewart Rhodes and Kelly Meggs, both Trump supporters, did not have any weapons on them during the protest. Both Rhodes and Meggs, however, were sentenced to 18 and 12 years in federal prison, respectively.

Former President Donald Trump, himself, has been attacked by the leftist legacy media for questioning the 2020 election, with some Democrats unsuccessfully pushing to pass legislation to bar Trump from ever running again.
