Pence Rebukes Media Attacks Against Justice Thomas

'Clarence Thomas is a man of integrity with an inspiring personal story...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) Former Vice President Mike Pence took to Twitter to defend Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, condemning the leftist media attacks against the conservative justice.

“Ever since his nomination to the Supreme Court in 1991 Justice Thomas has been maliciously attacked by the Left, including by then Sen. Joe Biden,” Pence said in a series of tweets Saturday, also adding that, “The attacks on his character are continuing today, and it’s appalling to see.”

In recent weeks, Thomas has been subjected to countless dubious media reports that accuse him of hiding financial gifts from long-time friend Republican donor Harlan Crow.

Several leftist lawmakers, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have called for the impeachment of Thomas over the alleged ethic breaches. Pence, however, rallied Americans to stand up in defense of Thomas, emphasizing the need to protect the conservative jurist against ongoing character attacks.

“Clarence Thomas is a man of integrity with an inspiring personal story and has upheld the ideals enshrined in our Constitution throughout his life without compromise,” Pence continued.

The Biden White House has refused to comment on the stories against Thomas. “There are other bodies of government that should be dealing with this – I’m just not going to comment from here,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said earlier this month.

President Joe Biden, then a Democrat senator from Delaware, served as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1991. He oversaw the infamous confirmation hearings of Thomas, who at the time was accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill.

Pence expressed gratitude for Thomas, concluding his Twitter posts by saying the nation’s is fortunate to have him.
