More NYC Corruption: Police Chief Guilty of Cutting Friend Loose in Gun Case

'NEW YORK STATE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THIS INJUSTICE!,' said former President Donald Trump of political corruption in New York

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) New York City police chief Jeffrey Maddrey abused his power by cutting a friend and former colleague loose after he was arrested for threatening three Brooklyn teenagers with a gun, an independent review found, highlighting a problem with corruption and abuse of power in New York City.

The New York City’s Civilian Complaint Review Board (CCRB) backed the non-criminal charge against Maddrey, who had been accused of using his influence to nullify the arrest of retired New York City cop Krysthoff Forrester in November 2021, the New York Post reported on Saturday.

“After carefully reviewing the evidence, the full board deliberated this case and substantiated misconduct against Chief Maddrey,” said CCRB Interim Chair Arva Rice.

Forrester allegedly chased three Brooklyn teens aged 12, 13, and 14 with a gun after the teens accidentally threw a basketball into a security camera placed outside a building owned by Forrester and his family.

The New York City Police Department arrested Forrester but was released after a short 45-minute arrest. Maddrey allegedly had shown up to the prescient where Forrester was held and ordered police officers to void the arrest.

“Maddrey not only leveraged his power to spring a former colleague who had terrorized children with a gun, but he allowed those same children to be vilified and discredited in the media and by his allies in the aftermath of his misconduct,” MK Kaishian, an attorney for the three teens, said in a statement.

Maddrey is unlikely to face any jail time for the abuse of authority. The New York Post reported that the penalty for abuse of authority regularly carries a maximum punishment of 10 vacation days.

In 2017, Maddrey was docked 45 vacation days from his benefit packet after he failed to file a report of an incident involving then-assistant chief Tabatha Foster who had pulled a gun on him. Foster held an extra-marital relationship with Maddrey and sued the police chief in 2019 for $100 million, the NY Daily News reported.

In June 2020, Maddrey took a kneel with leftist BLM activists to demand justice for George Floyd, whose killing by Minneapolis police caused a national onslaught of looting and violent protest across urban cities.

The news of the abuse of power comes weeks after a national outcry over alleged rampant corruption in New York City, which started with the indictment and subsequent arraignment of former President Donald Trump by Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who said in his 2021 candidacy for DA that “convicting” Trump would be the “number one issue.”

House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is expected to hold a field hearing in New York City with the victims of Bragg’s leftist policies on April 17.

Former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr, a Trump critic, slammed the Manhattan DA for his “abuse of power” in the charges against Trump.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., called New York City “disgusting” and slammed Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, for inciting violence against her when she rallied outside the New York Supreme Court where Trump was being arraigned on April 5. “There is so much crime in the city I can’t comprehend how people live there. It was repulsive, it smells bad and I think it’s a very terrible place,” Greene said in an interview with Tucker Carlson.

Similarly, Trump accused New York Attorney General Letitia James of plotting a witch hunt against him and his companies. “’The good thing about the A.G. Peekaboo James ‘persecution’ is that I will finally be able to show what a great, profitable, and valuable company I built,’ Trump blasted on Truth Social on April 13.
