Trump Blasts AG Letitia James ahead of Slated Deposition in NYC

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Fresh off a week of massive fundraising and a swell of support in the wake of a sham indictment, Donald Trump wasted no time pillorying New York Attorney General Letitia James ahead of a deposition slated for Thursday in the $250-million business fraud lawsuit the leftist prosecutor has been slogging for nearly four years through the courts.

Trump’s return to NYC comes on the heels of his arraignment last week in the politically motivated case brought in a separate witch hunt by Soros-bought D.A. Alvin Bragg.

Trump is expected to be questioned Thursday for a second time by James, who is suing the former president and the Trump Organization over allegedly misleading banks and investors by inflating the value of properties bearing the Trump name.

In addition to the $250 million, James wants to permanently ban Trump from running a business in New York and ban Trump and the Trump Organization from buying commercial real estate in New York for five years.

On the eve of his scheduled Thursday deposition, Trump took to Truth Social and blasted James for doing the dirty work of the Biden regime and its continued quest to weaponize the justice system.

“The good thing about the A.G. Peekaboo James ‘persecution’ is that I will finally be able to show what a great, profitable, and valuable company I built, actually, some of the greatest real estate assets anywhere in the world,” Trump wrote. “Her effort, in strict coordination and association with the lying, Country killing scum ‘working’ in the White House, and now discredited District Attorney Alvin Bragg, will prove to be FAKE, and even fraudulent. Her only hope is that she ‘shopped’ a judge as bad as her!”

Much like the first time Trump spared with James during a deposition last year, the former president is expected to invoke his Fifth Amendment right and refuse to answer questions to avoid potentially incriminating himself. Trump invoked the Fifth more than 400 times during his previous deposition, and made no apologies for it.

“Anyone in my position not taking the Fifth Amendment would be a fool, an absolute fool,” Trump said in the session. “One statement or answer that is ever so slightly off, just ever so slightly, by accident, by mistake, such as it was a sunny, beautiful day, when actually it was slightly overcast, would be met by law enforcement at a level seldom seen in this country, because I’ve experienced it.”

Trump expected more of the same from James.

“The A.G. case should be tried in front of the Commercial Division, not in front of a highly partisan, Trump Hating Judge who was sought out, or ‘shopped,’ by Peekaboo James,” he posted on Truth Social leading up to Thursday’s slated deposition.
