Biden Claims He Backed Gay Marriage in High School, but Denounced in 2006

'Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) President Joe Biden’s memory failed him once again in a recent interview, wherein he claimed that he has supported same-sex marriage since his time as a high school boy, despite denouncing gay marriage a mere 17 years ago.

“I can remember exactly when my epiphany [on supporting gay marriage] was … I was a senior in high school,” Biden said, trying to recall his tiresome timeline.

“And my dad was dropping me off and I remember I was about to get out of the car and I looked to my right and two well-dressed men in suits kissed each other… And I’ll never forget–I turned and looked at my dad, and he said ‘No, it’s simple: they love each other.'”

Unfortunately for Biden, he is on the record in 2006 denying the possibility of gay marriage rights in America.

“Marriage is between a man and a woman and states must respect that,” he said at the time regarding the Defense of Marriage Act. “Nobody’s violated that law, there’s been no challenge to that law. Marriage is between a man and a woman. What’s the game going on here? And now we’re going to also vote, right after that, about desecration of the flag.”

But by 2012–long after his high school days–Biden was singing a different tune.

“Love is love,” he said, declaring his support for gay marriage.

“Who do you love? Who do you love? And will you be loyal to the person you love? And that’s what people are finding out is what all marriages, at their root, are about.”

By 2016, the former bigot was leading “ceremonies” to “marry” gays to each other at his home.

He “married” Brian Mosteller and Joe Mahshie, who were staffers in the Obama-Biden White House.

Biden, who claims to be Catholic, wrote of the event: “Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn’t be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys.”
