‘Office’ Actor Rainn Wilson Admits Hollywood Hates Christians

'Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind? ... '

(Abdul–Rahman Oladimeji Bello, Headline USA) Rainn Wilson took to Twitter over the weekend to share his concerns about the anti-Christian bias he believes is evident in modern Hollywood, a reaction to some episodes of HBO Max’s The Last of Us

As reported by The Daily Wire, the post-apocalyptic show was created based on video game content with the same name. The show managed to stick to the original content and storyline of the video game for most parts. However, viewers pointed out that David, a villainous character in the storyline, was made out to be a pastor only in the show.

In the 8th episode, Ellie, the show’s main character, comes across some survivors led by a cannibal who continually quotes the scriptures. At the end of the episode, David, the character who is also a pastor, tries to rape Ellie. He eventually met his drastic end as she killed him in self-defense.

In reaction to this controversial show, Rainn wrote on Twitter, “I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the David character in ‘The Last of Us’ started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain. Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind?”

Knowing Wilson to be at the forefront of leftist propaganda, many of his followers on the platform were shocked to see him take such a stand on the current Hollywood reality. However, Wilson was not the only one who had this reaction to the show. Many other Twitter users agreed with the assessment on the anti-Christian bias in Hollywood, including Daniel Garza, LIBRE’s Initiative president.

“Defamation of Christianity has become the most unoriginal and tired clichés in movie/TV series storylines,” Garza wrote. “Its prevalence is much more than a bias against an entire people, it is meant to undermine faith and position the secular-minded as only ones with altruistic intentions.”
