Kansas and Georgia to Protect Kids from Genital Mutilation

'We’re asking that children be 18 years old before they make this decision that will alter their lives forever...'

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Kansas and Georgia are considering legislation to prevent minors from undergoing sex-change operations and prohibiting other gender-altering ‘treatments’ for children, according to Breitbart News.

The Kansas bill is known as Supplemental Senate Bill 223. If passed it would create “the Kansas Child Mutilation Prevention (act),” per the text of the bill. The bill passed through the Kansas Senate easily and is expected to pass through the Kansas House, according to KSNT Topeka.

This bill would instruct licensing officials of Kansas to revoke a physician’s license if the physician performs a sex change on a minor or provides a minor “puberty-blocking medication to delay, hinder, stop or reverse normal puberty.”

The law stipulates that the illegal drugs are “supraphysiologic doses of testosterone to females; or supraphysiologic doses of estrogen to males.” “Supraphysiologic” means “pharmacologic dosage regimen that produces blood concentrations greater than the accepted range for a child’s age and sex.”

The Georgia bill is Senate Bill 140, which prohibits sex changes, but does not prohibit puberty blockers.

“This is simply saying this is a pause and we’re asking that children be 18 years old before they make this decision that will alter their lives forever,” said the bill’s sponsor, Georgia state Republican Sen. Carden Summers.

Georgia Sen. Ben Watson, R-Savannah, who is also a physician, explained why the Senate did not ban hormone blockers.

“We’ve adjusted and refined this bill until I think we’ve threaded the needle and we made a good bill,” Watson said.

Kansas and Georgia’s effort to protect women, children and men from gender ideology is part of a national backlash against transgenderism.

Oklahoma is considering a ban on all sex-change surgeries and hormone blockers for all people while prohibiting men from competing in women’s sports and prohibiting classifying children as transgender.
