Judge Orders Trump to Pay $1M for ‘Frivolous’ Hillary Clinton Lawsuit

(Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump and his attorney, Alina Habba, were ordered by a judge this week to pay Hillary Clinton $171,631 in legal fees for suing her over the Russia collusion hoax.

Trump filed the lawsuit against Clinton last year, accusing her and the Democratic National Committee of a wide-ranging, “unthinkable plot” to smear his 2016 campaign.

“In the run up to the 2016 Presidential Election, Hillary Clinton and her cohorts orchestrated an unthinkable plot — one that shocks the conscience and is an affront to this nation’s democracy,” he says in the 108-page complaint.

“Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty.”

Clinton, the DNC, and other cronies “worked together with a single, self-serving purpose: to vilify Donald J. Trump,” the lawsuit continued.

“Indeed, their far-reaching conspiracy was designed to cripple Trump’s bid for presidency by fabricating a scandal that would be used to trigger an unfounded federal investigation and ignite a media frenzy,” it said.

In a ruling this Thursday, Judge Donald Middlebrooks dismissed Trump’s lawsuit as “frivolous.”

“This case should never have been brought. Its inadequacy as a legal claim was evident from the start,” Middlebrooks wrote. “No reasonable lawyer would have filed it. Intended for a political purpose, none of the counts of the amended complaint stated a cognizable legal claim.”

Middlebrooks accused Trump of “needlessly” harming Clinton and the other parties in the suit “in order to dishonestly advance a political narrative.”

The judge previously threw out the case “in its entirety” in September, arguing it lacked merit and was simply a “two-hundred-page political manifesto.”
