Rush Limbaugh Continues to Give Hope, Nearly Two Years after Tragic Loss

'I can’t help but think if Rush were here we’d all feel just a little bit better, just a little more certain that whatever is happening, America will pull through... '

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) The release of Radio’s Greatest of All Time, a collection of Rush Limbaugh’s greatest on-air moments, has reminded conservative Americans about the calm and hopeful presence that the host maintained while he excoriated “utterly demonic ideologies.”

“Rush would remind us that sooner or later, they all reach the end of their rope; that at some point a just God always delivers justice,” author and professor Larry Schweikart wrote in a tribute to Limbaugh as we approach the two-year anniversary of his death.

Schweikart wrote that Limbaugh would have stayed steady under the constant attacks of the “corrupt, illicit, suicidal administration” of President Joe Biden.

Limbaugh delivered a Christmas Eve sign-off on December 23, 2020, which many people thought would be the last before lung cancer killed him, that reflected his commitment to thankfulness under suffering.

“I wasn’t expected to be alive today,” he said. “I wasn’t expected to make it to October, and then to November, and then to December. And yet, here I am, and today, got some problems, but I’m feeling pretty good today.”

But he returned for a few more weeks in 2021.

“My point in all of this today is gratitude,” he said on Christmas Eve. “My point in all of this is to say thanks and tell everybody involved how much I love you from the bottom of a sizable and growing and still-beating heart.”

Schweikart argued that perhaps one of Limbaugh’s greatest legacies was the hope and passion that he delivered on a regular basis can even today be used to help people move forward in challenging times.

“I can’t help but think if Rush were here we’d all feel just a little bit better, just a little more certain that whatever is happening, America will pull through,” he wrote.
