Denver Mayor Declares Emergency as 0.01% of Migrants Arrive in His City

'What we have been saying to all of our federal partners is that this Title 42 going away, with the numbers we’re seeing today is a true emergency for the community...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Denver’s Democrat mayor, Michael Hancock, declared a state of emergency after an estimated 0.01% of illegal immigrants flooding into the U.S. via the southern border arrived his city.

According to Breitbart, Hancock issued the emergency status when there were as few as 650 illegals entering Denver.

The incoming illegal aliens have “put an immense strain on city resources to the level where they’re on the verge of reaching a breaking point at this time,” Hancock claimed in a statement.

“It is a crisis point right now and cities all over the country are being forced to deal with something we’re not equipped to deal with,” he added.

An estimated 2.3 million illegals have crossed the southern border in 2022.

Comparatively, roughly 250 migrants arrived in Denver last week; another 400 are overtaking the city’s shelters.

Hancock is not the only Democrat griping about rising immigration levels, despite originally professing the desire to allow more migrants into the country.

Even Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who prides himself on allowing his state to be a sanctuary for non-citizens, made a statement saying the recent flow of illegal immigration to the U.S. is a “burden” to California and is causing “budgetary pressures.”

The city of El Paso, Texas, which lies on the southern border, has been struggling with the influx of migrants for months.

With the repeal of Title 42, 2,500 illegal immigrants enter the city every day. Many migrants are sleeping in the streets, and the city has called on the Biden administration for assistance.

“What we have been saying to all of our federal partners is that this Title 42 going away, with the numbers we’re seeing today is a true emergency for the community,” D’Agostino said. “It’s a federal crisis that’s happening in the border of El Paso.”

Despite the continuous string of emergencies caused by the administration’s negligence, the White House’s official take on the situation is that they have “done the work.”

In a recent conference, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that they have secured the border without assistance from Republicans and blamed the Trump administration for leaving them with a “gutted system.”
