Ariz. Lawmaker Files Suit to Nullify Stolen Maricopa Election

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) As drama continues to unfold in Arizona’s Maricopa County following the 2022 midterms, state Sen. Sonny Borrelli, a Republican, filed a lawsuit aimed at nullifying the results of the midterms.

The lawsuit calls into question the conduct of Secretary of State and alleged Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs and her Maricopa County election official comrades on and leading up to election day, American First Report reported.

Borrelli hopes to “nullify” the results on the basis that thousands of Arizonans were systematically neglected on voting day.

“Because of multiple systemic failures in the conduct of the election in Maricopa County, Arizona … the voting strength of residents in Mojave County, Arizona, was diluted and their constitutional rights were violated,” the suit said, echoing a similar suit filed by gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake last week.

Arizona officials on the Left rebuked Borrelli for trying to secure the state’s elections.

Democrat Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Gallardo criticized the filing in a tweet earlier this week, accusing Borrelli of “using our judicial system to continue the frivolous and ridiculous efforts to undermine our Democracy.”

He also said that Borrelli is “wasting the taxpayers dollars and the courts time on unfounded conspiracy. [The] Plaintiff and their attorneys must be held accountable.”

Though Hobbs’s office did not respond to Borrelli’s suit, it viciously lashed out at opponent Lake for her attempts to win the election in her own lawsuit.

“Kari Lake needs attention like a fish needs water—and independent experts and local election officials of both parties have made it clear that this was a safe, secure, and fair election,” a statement from Hobbs’s campaign said.

“Arizonans made their voices heard and elected Katie Hobbs as their governor. No nuisance lawsuit will change that, and we remain laser-focused on getting ready to hit the ground running on Day One of Katie Hobbs’ administration next year.”
