Media Matters Founder David Brock Unexpectedly Resigns from Leadership Posts

'Media Matters would not exist without David Brock’s vision and know-how. We appreciate his intuition and laying the groundwork for the organization...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Leftist political operative David Brock said Thursday that he is stepping down from his role as chairman of the board for Media Matters for America, the Media Matters Action Network and the influential American Bridge super-PAC.

The announcement, which Brock made via Twitter, included a clip of a press release bemoaning his departure from his work of “holding Republicans accountable.”

The as-yet undisclosed reasons for his departure fueled speculation among media-industry watchers, Breitbart noted.

Some suggested that Brock may be moving forward to help another presidential hopeful for the 2024 race—California’s Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Media Matters issued its own statement paying tribute to their longtime leader.

Brock, a former conservative journalists who flipped sides during the Clinton administration and, with backing from George Soros, helped found one of the Left’s most powerful propaganda machines has never been far from controversy.

The Machiavellian schemer was accused of illegally coordinating with longtime friend Hillary Clinton to boost her 2016 presidential campaign despite Media Matters’s designation as a nonprofit, which would prohibit it from direct political involvement.

Among Brock’s handiwork was the effort to entice women to come forward and accuse Republican candidate Donald Trumpo of sexual misconduct via the Correct the Record PAC.

An investigation by the Patriots Foundation, a conservative watchdog group, revealed that Brock’s American Bridge 21st Century Foundation and Correct the Record PAC worked in the same office as the Clinton Campaign, and even shared 6 employees in the lead up to the 2016 election.

Ironically, one of Brock’s own American Bridge surrogates was arrested in 2018 for assaulting a female communications officer with the Interior Department during a congressional hearing.

Brock later helped set up of American Oversight, an activist law organization which litigates solely Republicans—particularly the Trump administration.

The group—which has ties to the Clintons, former President Barack Obama, current President Joe Biden and Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.—had a hand in stirring up the riotous clamor against the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018.

More recently, it was revealed that American Oversight had filed an onslaught of lawsuits against private groups investigating Maricopa County’s 2020 election results.

Brock also has been at the forefront of covert partisan operations like the “65 Project,” an effort to target and disbar lawyers who represented and offered counsel to former President Donald Trump during his challenges to the 2020 election results, the Gateway Pundit reported.
