Joe Lombardo Wins Nev. Gubernatorial Race

‘Sisolak was defeated by a moderate margin after a slow ballot count...’

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Decision Desk reported that Republican Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo won the Nevada gubernatorial elections by receiving 49.24% of the vote to Democrat incumbent Steve Sisolak’s 46.99%, according to the Daily Wire.

Even though Joe Biden’s poor approval ratings, high inflation and a crime wave have been affecting the popularity of Democrats, the initial Tuesday results showed that Sisolak might win.

However, Sisolak was defeated by a moderate margin after a slow ballot count.

68-year-old Sisolak also faced numerous charges of corruption from Republicans after ProPublica performed an investigation.

“[The] investigation revealed in May that Sisolak’s administration had fast-tracked a lab license and awarded several COVID testing contracts to Northshore Clinical Labs,” the Daily Wire reported.

“Northshore is closely linked with the family of Peter Palivos, a well-known Nevada political contributor who has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Sisolak’s campaigns over more than a decade.”

It was revealed that Northshore testing kits were missing 96% of COVID cases after the government entities awarded five testing agreements to the company.

Sisolak also became known for his support of women who want to kill their babies in their wombs after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade earlier this summer.

“In June, he signed an executive order barring state employees from assisting any other state seeking to prosecute someone for receiving an abortion,” the Daily Wire reported.

“He also attempted to paint Lombardo as an extremist on the issue, claiming that the sheriff would try to ban contraceptives, an allegation that Lombardo has denied.”

Lombardo, ran a campaign, during which he focused on economy, education and crime, especially the prevalence of black market fentanyl in the state that skyrocketed because of Biden’s disastrous open border policies.

Aside from these issues, Lombardo portrayed himself as a moderate, including the issue of abortion. He was constantly downplaying what he could do to limit abortion as a governor.

During a debate with Sisolak in early October, Lombardo betrayed Donald Trump, who endorsed him, when he was asked if he considered Trump a “great president.”

“I wouldn’t say great,” Lombardo said. “I think he was a sound president.”

However, after the debate, Lombardo’s campaign sent out a statement that said Trump was “a great president” and claimed that “his accomplishments are some of the most impactful in American history.”

The statement also tied Sisolak to Biden and accused the Nevada governor of weakening the state’s elections by allowing mail ballots and “ballot harvesting” and opposing voter ID.
