(Headline USA) Disgraced former CNN talker Chris Cuomo, now a host for NewsNation, is reportedly demanding to be moved to a different time slot in the hopes of boosting his show’s abysmal ratings.
Cuomo hosts an 8 p.m. show for the network, which brought him on after he was booted from CNN last year. The show has brought in only 147,000 viewers since it launched on Oct. 3. Even his explosive interview with artist Kanye West only brought in 129,000 viewers.
For comparison, NewsMax’s Eric Bolling brings in about 150,000 to 200,000 viewers a night. Kids shows like Paw Patrol and SpongeBob and reruns of Seinfeld also drew bigger numbers. Fox News’s Tucker Carlson Tonight earned almost 2.9 million viewers, over 20 times the viewership of Cuomo’s new show.
An inside source told the New York Post that Cuomo is “starting to blame everyone but himself” for the low ratings.
“Cuomo is getting nasty about the ratings … He’s blaming the network, staff that he personally hired, his lead-in, the promo department, and even the press department,” the source said.
His proposed solution is to move to a 9 p.m. time slot and replace host Dan Abrams, the source claimed.
“Chris was going around screaming that Newsmax is beating him,” the source added. “He’s a Cuomo. He doesn’t blame himself. His entire life, he’s been told he’s special.”
But “no one is talking about his show,” the source continued.
NewsNation denied the report, claiming the information is “completely, totally, 100% inaccurate. But we are glad that the Post has taken such an interest in NewsNation’s success.”
“We have talked to numerous people in our newsroom and on Chris’ staff and they are all very happy with the growth we’re seeing,” the spokesperson added.
