(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A US military veteran was recently denied service at the West Cobb County Veterans Affairs Clinic for not wearing a mask, even though his masking would have triggered a medical emergency.
A video that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted to Twitter showed Robby Entrekin being denied access by staff members of a VA clinic, who also claimed that he was prohibited from filming the incident.
“This veteran was not just poorly treated by VA employees, he was assaulted for exercising his First Amendment right to record in a public space,” she wrote. “This veteran is also a taxpayer, and no government employee should ever treat a veteran this way.”
In the video, Entrekin said he can’t wear a mask because it triggers severe panic attacks caused by his PTSD.
“It’s being recorded right now,” he told the security officer, who said that he couldn’t be filmed.
“Cause I’m in here to seek treatment,” Entrekin said. “I just had an echocardiogram and you’re telling me that I can’t see the doctor because I can’t wear a mask because of my ailment.”
“So now the VA police called on me because I have PTSD. I have panic attacks. I cannot wear a mask. I’m having problems breathing, and so this is how smart our government is,” he added.
Entrekin continued questioning leftist dogma about mask-wearing, rightfully noting that masks aren’t required in other places and even the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention no longer mandates masking.
When Entrekin moved his camera up to show the person behind the desk, the guard placed his hand in front of it, and the female staff member reminded him to not record and to not place his hands on the security officer.
After that, the man from behind the desk confronted Entrekin, demanding to delete the footage of his face. Instead, Entrekin turned his phone toward the man, who swiped it.
“VA’s top priority is ensuring the health and safety of the Veterans we serve, which is why we request that everyone wear a mask when entering our health care facilities,” VA Press Secretary Terrence Hayes told the Post Millennial.
“Of course, we also work diligently to accommodate Veterans who cannot wear a mask for health reasons. We are investigating this incident and will take appropriate action.”
