(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Across the country, blue cities controlled by Democrats have become infamous for their high crime rates that hurt regular people and the businesses and companies that operate, or at least try to, in the dens of violence and chaos.
One of those cities is Philadelphia, in which grocery retailer Wawa was forced to close up to nine of its stores, CBS Philadelphia reported.
According to 6 ABC, two Wawa stores closed in Center City Philadelphia. Wawa announced the closures last week and blamed the “continued safety and security challenges and business factors” as the reason why the stores are now closed.
“Literally kids just grabbing stuff and I think that was the only reason they went in there,” Vincent Jones, a Philadelphia resident, said about the incident that he witnessed at the 12th and Market streets – the locations of the two stores.
This is not the only incident that Wawa experienced in Philadelphia. One man stole money from the cash register at one of the stores in Lower Southampton and more than 100 teenagers ransacked one of the Wawa stores in Mayfair in September.

San Francisco, with its skyrocketing crime and homelessness crisis, is another leftist city that companies are fleeing.
Davis Smith, CEO of the popular clothing outfitter Cotopaxi, announced that he is closing one of his stores in San Francisco because of a crime that authorities do not punish for, according to the Daily Wire.
“As of today, we are closing the store due to rampant organized theft and lack of safety for our team,” Smith said. “Our store is hit by organized theft rings several times per week. They brazenly enter the store and grab thousands of dollars of product and walk out.”
Smith also noticed that overall the city has descended into chaos.
“It’s sad, but San Francisco appears to have descended into a city of chaos,” he wrote. “Many streets and parks are overrun with drugs, criminals and homelessness, and local leadership and law enforcement enable it through inaction.”
“Forty-four percent of San Francisco voters plan to eventually leave the city, citing homelessness, the high cost of living and rising crime as the top reasons for looking elsewhere, according to the inaugural San Francisco Standard Voter Poll.”https://t.co/ZdYvnKG9Lp

When it comes to Chicago, which is controlled by Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot, even the richest people in the city realize that they need to leave the city because of rampant crime.
Ken Griffin, the owner of Citadel Securities, tried to save the city by donating $50 million to Richard Irving, a Republican candidate for governor of Illinois, but it didn’t work.
“If people aren’t safe here, they’re not going to live here,” he said.
Griffin has since moved to Florida, according to a Citadel spokesperson who reached out to Headline USA following the initial publication of the article.
