Harvard Hospital Roasted for Shock Baby Trans Claim

'Kids know very, very early... '

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A Harvard University-associated hospital has claimed that babies know whether or not they are transgender from their time in the womb, escalating the Left’s encroachment on commonsense and science.

The bizarre report comes just weeks after a Boston hospital claimed that children should be able to pick their gender from the time they are able to speak, the Daily Mail reported.

The claims were made by Harvard-associated hospital psychologist Kerry McGregor.

“But a good portion of children do know as early as – seemingly – from the womb,” McGregor said.

“And they will usually express their gender identity as very young children, some as soon as they can talk… kids know very, very early.”

Dr. Jay Richards, from the Heritage Foundation, said that McGregor was making up nonsense ideology.

“The claim that children ‘know their gender identity … seemingly from the womb’ is a claim with no basis in science or data,” he said. “It’s simply a concept imposed on the actions of kids by gender ideologues.”

Richards called transgender ideology a “social contagion” that is overtaking serious medical research.

“I think even 25 years ago, this would have been unthinkable,” Richards noted.

“Based on a series of events that I think, mostly due to social contagion plus the kind of ideological commitment, many now consider these the proper standard of care for kids with gender dysphoria and Boston Children’s Hospital is just one of the first ones to do it.”

According to Richards, children would never think of surgical or pharmaceutical self-mutiliation on a permanent basis unless those options were pressed onto them.

“This tells us nothing about their ‘gender identity,’ a concept that no child has on his or her own, that no one had until recently, and that doesn’t even have a stable definition.”

Stella O’Malley, a psychotherapist who specializes in gender issues, said that the ideology is particularly alluring to anxious teenagers, who are often incapable of making sound decisions.

“When distressed and vulnerable young people are offered an option to be somebody different, it’s very, very alluring and gender ideology does offer that.”
