NYC Mayor Suddenly Worried about Border Crisis

'We need a realistic decompression strategy at the border that will slow the outflow of asylum seekers... '

(John McCannHeadline USA) Leftist so-called sanctuary cities are starting to feel the pressure as thousands of illegal aliens are bussed from Texas and Florida. And New York City Mayor Eric Adams, for one, has had enough.

The Democrat Adams has condemned the bussing program pushed by Republican governors Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis, but is now also calling on the Biden regime to take action and secure the border after its chaos has landed in NYC’s backyard, the Daily Mail reported.

The bussing program has brought upwards of 17,000 illegal immigrants to New York City, with about five to six busses arriving every day since September. Adams has warned that as many as 100,000 illegals could enter the city by the end of the year.

The sanctuary city mayor has implored the Biden administration to tighten the nation’s borders and to provide federal funds for cities overwhelmed by the influx. The mayor stated, “We expect to spend at least $1billion by the end of the fiscal year on this crisis, all because we have a functional, a compassionate system.”

“We need a realistic decompression strategy at the border that will slow the outflow of asylum seekers,” Adams said. “We need a coordinated effort to move asylum seekers to other cities in this country to ensure everyone is doing their part.”

Adams griped about the bussing scheme in Florida and Texas, claiming that the lack of coordination is hurting NYC.

“We didn’t get the support and information we asked for, and now, New York City is being forced to bear far more than its share of this national crisis.”

The efforts of border states like Texas, Arizona and Florida have been hit by critics as “political theater,” but officials in those states see it as a necessary action.

“We are sending [the illegals] to the United States Capitol, where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” Texas Gov. Abbott stated earlier this year.

Northern cities are now understanding what border communities have been struggling with the past couple of years, as the border crisis continues to worsen. While big city mayors like Adams possess “compassion” for these asylum seekers, that compassion does not seem to extend to the people living at the border.
