Kamala Visits the Border—in Korea

'Your visit to the DMZ and Seoul will be very symbolic demonstrations of your strong commitments to the security and peace...'

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris, who was put in charge of America’s southern border crisis by the president, will be visiting a different border this week.

Harris will travel to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North Korea and South Korea, where she will “tour sites at the DMZ, meet with service members and receive an operational briefing from the U.S. commanders,” the White House said.

Her tour of the DMZ will follow a meeting with South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, the Daily Wire reported.

“Your visit to the DMZ and Seoul will be very symbolic demonstrations of your strong commitments to the security and peace to Korean Peninsula, and we are working with you and U.S. in dealing with North Korea,” Han said to Harris in a meeting.

The White House released a statement explaining that Harris’ trip to South Korea reaffirms America’s commitment to its relationship with the country after the passing of a North Korean law.

The new law, passed by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s puppet parliament, allows the leader to fire a preemptive nuclear attack.

The law also ensures that the North Korea will “automatically and immediately” retaliate with nuclear weapons if Kim is killed in an attack.

Back in America, the Biden administration is facing intense criticism for its own border crisis, with a record breaking 2 million migrant encounters in 2022 thus far.

The vice president has done very little to stem the flow of migrants coming from the south, and has been criticized for ignoring it altogether after being tasked to solve the problem by President Joe Biden in March 2021.

In a Sept. 11 interview with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, Harris claimed that “we have a secure border,” then tried to shift the blame on to the Trump administration.

“There are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years,” she said.

In the interview, she also called on Congress to grant amnesty to the millions of immigrants now in the country.
