DeSantis Drop-Kicks Fauci, Cheers Fla. School Board Victories

'Someone needs to grab that little elf and chuck him across the Potomac... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) With a November opponent now in place, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis wasted no time landing punches to the leftist body Democrat on a state level and delivering a knockout right on the national level.

While DeSantis ran unopposed in Tuesday’s GOP primary, he still came away one of the night’s biggest winners. A huge majority of the school board candidates that DeSantis endorsed and actively campaigned for won their elections, flipping several far-leftist school boards to majority conservative.

Of the 30 candidates backed by DeSantis, 25 either won outright or advanced to a runoff, a sign that many pundits took as a message that the DeSantis no-woke, anti-grooming push for educational accountability is resonating with voters.

Those pro-parent policies are even winning over traditionally Democrat strongholds, such as Miami-Dade and Hillsborough, where DeSantis-endorsed candidates notched school board victories, reported the Tallahassee Democrat.

“Parents are seeing what’s going on, now more than ever,” DeSantis told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Many of Florida’s red counties have non-partisan school board elections, where teachers unions would sweep in to heavily fund far-Left candidates, DeSantis said. The result churned out far-Left school boards representing majority-conservative counties.

“We have fixed that in many of these places where the school boards are now going to be representative of the values of the people who live there.”

DeSantis delivered that same message after the Florida primary polls closed.

“We’re not going to let this state be overrun by woke ideology, we will fight the woke in the business, we will fight the woke in government agencies, we will fight the woke in our schools,” DeSantis said.

“We will never, ever surrender to the woke agenda. Florida is the state where woke goes to die.”

Those were solid body blows for his regional re-election campaign against Democrat Charlie Crist. On a broader national level, with talk swirling about a possible 2024 presidential run, DeSantis delivered a knockout punch to self-reportedly outgoing COVID Czar Anthony Fauci.

“I’m just sick of seeing him,” DeSantis said.

“I know he says he’s going retire. Someone needs to grab that little elf and chuck him across the Potomac.”
