Yelp Adds Warning Notices to Reviews of Pro-Life Crisis Pregnancy Centers

'It has always felt unjust to me that there are clinics in the U.S. that provide misleading information or conduct deceptive tactics to steer pregnant people away from abortion care...'

(Ezekiel Loseke, Headline USA) Online consumer-review platform Yelp said Tuesday that it had begun “flagging” the pages of pro-life crisis pregnancy centers to discourage users seeking abortions from inadvertently saving the lives of their pre-born children.

Per Axios, Yelp users who seek a review of a crisis pregnancy center will now be met with an alert that reads: Consumer Notice: This is a Crisis Pregnancy Center. Crisis Pregnancy Centers typically provide limited medical services and may not have licensed medical professionals onsite.”

The San Francisco-based tech company has been differentiating between abortion clinics and crisis pregnancy centers since 2018, but the alert distributed to users is a new feature, said Noorie Malik, Yelp’s vice president of user operations.

“I’m grateful Yelp stands behind these efforts to provide consumers with access to reliable information about reproductive health services,” Malik told Axios.

“It has always felt unjust to me that there are clinics in the U.S. that provide misleading information or conduct deceptive tactics to steer pregnant people away from abortion care if that’s the path they choose to take,” she added.

Malik told Axios that the company further hoped to “increase efforts to better match” pregnant women with abortionists.

Yelp’s leftward tilt is not surprising; it was one of several woke companies that planned to cover the “abortion tourism” costs of employees in pro-life state who were traveling elsewhere to terminate their pregnancies following the Supreme Court’s overturn of the federal abortion mandate established under Roe v. Wade.

Among the other companies seeking to censor conservatives by manipulating the flow of online traffic was Alphabet, the parent company of Google and YouTube.

Its employee union called for removing crisis pregnancy centers from Google searches, while other left-wing abortion activists have pressured the company to put warning labels on crisis pregnancy centers in its search results.

In contrast, pro-life advocates seek to ensure crisis pregnancy centers can be found using a Google search.

Other left-wing institutions have also gone out of their way to support anti-life efforts:
