Jesse Jackson Joins Shakedown of Racist ‘Sesame Street’

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Iconic civil-rights leader and professional race-hustler Jesse Jackson has attached himself to a new scandal after a woman threatned to sue a Sesame Street-inspired theme park for $25 million following allegations of racism.

“In our fight for freedom and equality, we have seen this recent incident with Sesame Place too many times to remember,” Jackson wrote in a letter to parent company SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, according to BizPac Review. “Yet, one thing is for certain—without sincere action from corporations, discriminatory acts always return.”

The story drew national attention after a viral video circulated on the internet showing two young black girls being waved off by the character Rosita during a parade at the Sesame Place theme park outside Philadelphia.

Sesame Place—which licenses the characters from the beloved PBS children’s show and is considered to be the “official” Sesame Street theme park—denied any deliberate racism on the part of its costumed characters, but it pledged to focus more on sensitivity training and awarness.

Following the initial incident, however, other families came forward claiming they, too, had been victims of the muppets’ systemic, race-based oppression, spurring the massive lawsuit.

Jackson, famous for leading boycotts against offending institutions that come into his crosshairs, listed in his letter a series of demands necessary for park officials to make right the situation.

“To see discrimination against our innocent children is a line that we cannot allow the enemies of progress to think that they can cross,” he wrote.

“We must collectively let SeaWorld and other companies know that we will not accept racism against anyone and certainly not our innocent children,” he added.

Among the demands that Jackson’s letter listed were:

  • The budgetary addition of procurement funds to be spent exclusively on African–American businesses
  • Changing employment and hiring practices
  • Adding African Americans to its board of directors
  • Generously settling the lawsuits brought by any racially aggrieved park patrons (aka “doing right by those harmed”)
  • Having a black-run outside agency lead its staff-wide cultural and sensitivity training

“Sesame Place, which is owned by SeaWorld has not provided solutions that I trust will eradicate the culture that has stained this theme park with discriminatory practices,” Jackson wrote. “We need SeaWorld to take a stance against past practices and do what is necessary to end discriminatory acts at their theme parks.”

Ironically, Sesame Street often has been considered a trailblazer in the civil-rights and integration movements since it first began airing in November 1969.

The show hosted Jackson—then a young activist—in 1972 to teach a group of children a poem about accepting people for their differences.

Since then, the show’s message has grown increasingly woke and geared toward questionable aspects of the leftist agenda, including open-border policies, globalist free trade, critical race theory and compulsory coronavirus vaccinations.
